Good nutrition plays a role in reducing the need for medicines and supporting a healthy mind, heart and body. Around 60% of the general Australian population have a lower than adequate levels of health literacy (ABS, 2006). Lower still, are the healthy literacy levels in CALD communities.

The nutrition workshop was delivered by renowned diet doctor Moodi Dennaoui, to a group of young men from diverse backgrounds. The workshop focused on delivering practical tips around nutrition and making healthier long-term choices. This was also coupled with a practical component whereby the participants formed groups of 2 to cook a dinner meal to promote healthy living and social cohesion.
